And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Here are important issues that American Family Association sent action alerts about in recent weeks:
- On May 17, AFA hand-delivered 254,976 petition signatures to Home Depot chairman Frank Blake during the company's annual shareholder meeting. To date, over 700,000 people have pledged to boycott the company.
- Exposed Target's decision to donate $120,000 in cash to promote the legalization of homosexual marriage. Target's website says it will donate 100% of T-shirt sales from customers during the month of June to Family Equality Council.
- Last week, JC Penney released its second ad promoting gay marriage in as many months. AFA is supporting a Father's Day shopping boycott of the company in response.
In addition:
- AFA emailed thousands of Primary Voter Guides to help voters review candidates for public office. A general election voter guide is being prepared for the November election.
- AFA was instrumental in helping secure enough petition signatures to put a Marriage Protection Amendment vote on the ballot in Washington State. This week, twice as many signatures were submitted to the Secretary of State than is required by law to place the initiative on the ballot.
We will continue to work just as hard this summer to be a voice for what is right. AFA unapologetically stands for the Christian values that made our country great. We ask that you continue to pray for us and take the action steps we recommend so that together we continue to make a difference.
